SUMMARY:Seminar on appointments to become a Deputy High Court Judge
DESCRIPTION:This seminar has been arranged by the Diversity &amp\; Inclusio
 n representatives in the High Court.\n\nThe seminar is in regards to makin
 g an application to sit as a fixed-term Deputy High Court Judge.  It is 
 aimed at both those thinking of applying in his year's forthcoming competi
 tion for up to 45 candidates as well as those planning further ahead. Thes
 e appointments under section 9(4) of the Senior Courts Act 1981 for a fixe
 d six-year term are open to all solicitors and barristers qualified in Eng
 land and Wales with at least 7 years PQE who demonstrate exceptional abili
 ty. No previous judicial experience is necessary.\n\nThe event aims to enc
 ourage applications from candidates in underrepresented groups\, but all a
 re welcome to attend this seminar to learn more about the process and the 
 appointment as a Deputy High Court Judge.\n\nDetails of the event are as f
