TECBAR Advocacy Panel Event – 4 February 2026
TECBAR is delighted to announce a seminar on advocacy. Mrs Justice Joanna Smith will chair a panel of distinguished speakers who will give their views on what makes good advocacy (and what does not):
-
Sir Rupert Jackson on “Appellate advocacy – what does the Court of Appeal want from oral submissions (and what does it not want)”; and
-
Mr Justice Constable on “Cross examination – High Court advocacy – what Judges want to see in cross-examination (and what they do not want)”; and
-
Jonathan Cope on “What makes a good adjudication submission?”
After the talks, there will be a short Q&A, and drinks and nibbles to follow.
This event will be held in The Bingham Room, Gray’s Inn at 6 pm on 4 February 2026.
There is no charge to attend.
The event is open to TECBAR members and their pupils, but places are limited so reservations are essential.
