Adjudicator Training Day

TECBAR will be hosting an Adjudication Training Day on Monday 27 July 2026, to be held at at 4 New Square Chambers, London.

The training will be chaired by Calum Lamont KC of Keating Chambers. It will begin at 1:00pm, concluding with a keynote speech from Mr Justice Constable at 4:30pm, followed by a drinks reception from 5pm.

The trainers (Marcus Taverner KC, Alexander Nissen KC and Jonathan Cope) will cover “Adjudication from cradle to (almost) grave” to include the following topics:
– Appointment
– Liaison with Parties
– Dealing with Challenges
– Directions
– Raising Concerns
– Dealing with Ambush
– Requests for Time & Meetings
– Taking the Initiative
– Incomplete Submissions
– Never-ending Submissions
– Extending time
– The Award: Form, Content, Length and writing a bulletproof decision

Completion of TECBAR’s Adjudication Training is one means by which members may satisfy the CPD requirement and/or apply for inclusion on the TECBAR Adjudication panel.

All TECBAR members are welcome to attend, irrespective of current or planned panel membership.
